In future, the Swedish armed forces will conduct their Leopard 2 training on new simulators from Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KNDS) simulators. The contract concluded between the Swedish Procurement Agency (FMV) and KNDS provides for the delivery of a total of 18 high-fidelity simulators.
The combination of turret and driving simulators enables training in company strength at the Land Warfare Center in Skövde and in platoon strength and at vehicle level at three other locations in Sweden. https://militaeraktuell.at/anteil-der-soldatinnen-beim-bundesheer-steigt/ With the use of state-of-the-art software and hardware, the training systems have, among other things, a fully functional integration of the gunnery area using a weapon simulator and an “over-the-hatch” vision system solution for the commander. It is also possible to integrate the Swedish C2 Mark command and control system. The Swedish army has been relying on simulation technology from KNDS for 25 years.
