On the fringes of the large-scale exercise “AEGIS 2016”, Defense Minister Hans Peter Doskozil symbolically handed over 20 new combat helmets to the soldiers of Jäger Battalions 33 and 19 as well as to the militia soldiers of Jäger Company Tulln. Delivery of the 20,000 new helmets is scheduled to begin at the end of the year. The new helmets are lighter than the previous model, and the high-cut shape also allows hearing protection to be worn. Auxiliary equipment such as lamps can also be mounted on the side rails.
