In his speech, the new commander, Brigadier Luttenberger, emphasized the association’s good reputation at home and abroad for its professional performance of tasks. Brigadier Luttenberger was most recently Deputy Head of the Air Staff of the Armed Forces Command, is a helicopter pilot, completed the General Staff Course at the National Defense Academy in Vienna and later the US Air War College in Montgomery, Alabama. Luttenberger was deployed abroad several times in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The 57-year-old is married and has a daughter. From Vogler Air Base in Hörsching, the Air Support Command coordinates all transport and aerial reconnaissance flights of the Austrian Armed Forces. The Hercules aircraft of the air transport squadron and the two squadrons of Agusta Bell 212 transport helicopters are managed directly by the command. The Black Hawk transport helicopters in Langenlebarn and the Alouette III helicopters in Aigen im Ennstal are also subordinate to the Air Support Command.
