Together with Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner, the Deputy Governor of Lower Austria, Udo Landbauer, officially opened the new Army Performance Sports Center at the Lower Austria Sports Center a few days ago. This will intensify the cooperation between the sports competence center and the Federal Ministry of Defence (BMLV) in the future and take it to a whole new level.

Tanner expressed his enthusiasm at the opening: “The cooperation with the Lower Austrian Sports and Olympic Center is immensely important. Together we can pool our resources and promote top-class sport in Austria. Army sports center opens in Lower Austria
In future, up to 30 disabled and competitive athletes from the Austrian Armed Forces will find optimal training conditions at the new Army Sports Center at the Lower Austrian Olympic Center. Among them are hurdler Lena Pressler, canoeist Simon Zeitlhofer and weightlifter Sarah Fischer. In addition to the diverse infrastructure, athletes can expect a professional High Performance Unit with sports science and sports psychology services as well as sports physiotherapy and nutritional advice at the new location. There is also a modern weight training room, two offices, an archive and eight sleeping places.
