Since November 27, the Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) in the airspace of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg (Benelux) has once again been the responsibility of the Dutch armed forces. Both Air Force fighter planes are ready for action around the clock. They can take off and intercept an aircraft within a few minutes. The Quick Reaction Alert is activated if an aircraft enters Benelux airspace without making radio contact.
The Air Operations Center in Nieuw Milligen monitors the airspace and guides the F-35 jets. If an aircraft is detected entering the airspace without authorization, the Air Operations Center deploys the QRA to intercept it.
