The Netherlands is providing Ukraine with 25 YPR tracked armored vehicles for the transport of wounded. This was announced today by Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans during a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (UDCG).

In this alliance, over 50 countries coordinate their military support for Ukraine (-> current news from the Ukraine war). The meeting took place in Brussels and was chaired by the United Kingdom for the first time.

Minister Brekelmans explained: “We are approaching the sad mark of three years of large-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine. Since then, the Ukrainians have been fighting tirelessly for their future – and therefore also for our freedom and security. The Netherlands has already pledged more than ten billion euros in military support, of which around six billion euros have been implemented. Especially now, when the situation on the front is particularly difficult, we must continue our aid unwaveringly. Peace with Russia is only possible through military strength.”

Brekelmans also informed the audience that the Netherlands has now delivered the last promised T-72 battle tanks to Ukraine – a joint donation with the Czech Republic and the USA.

In addition, Ukraine recently received a new delivery of Dutch F-16 fighter jets. These aircraft had previously been promised to the country. However, for operational reasons, the Ministry of Defense does not disclose the exact number of aircraft already delivered.
