The German NavyChief Vice Admiral Jan Christian Kaack confirmed targeted acts of sabotage against German warships and attempted break-ins at naval bases during the so-called “Navy Talks”. According to Kaack, the threat from Russia in 2025 is “more urgent than it was two years ago”.
As NTV reportsaccording to Kaack, saboteurs had “caused targeted damage to warships in Germany in more than one case”. Countermeasures were then taken in the shipyards.
In addition to the sabotage attempts, there were also attempts to infiltrate naval bases, according to the inspector of the navy from land and sea. There had also been “attempts to approach” soldiers in uniform on their way home. Haack: “We are being tested. They are trying to unsettle our society, both nationally and within the alliance. And they may be creating the basis for later active military activities.”
