The prospective infantry officers of the “Captain Neusser” class are currently completing three weeks of mountain combat training under the leadership of the Mountain Combat Center.

In the first week, the focus was on increasing self-mobility in the mountains. The training plan included the correct handling of equipment and weapons under demanding environmental conditions, individual and squad combat shooting, as well as cooperation with snow vehicles. This forms the basis for further exercises in extreme terrain.

A project in the mountains requires a lot of planning.

The 2nd week of training for the prospective infantry officers in the mountains continued to be challenging. At the Hochfilzen military training area, a live firing exercise was explored and planned for the coming week with the participation of basic military personnel. The highlight was a two-day bivouac tour in the Grossarl area, where the midshipmen’s ability to survive under extreme conditions was practiced, as was helicopter evacuation.
