We have produced three interesting episodes to kick things off:

Episode #1: Rheinmetall Skyranger shoots live – at the Rheinmetall shooting demo

In episode one, Militär Aktuell reporter Stefan Tesch was at the Ochsenboden test center in Switzerland for a firing demonstration of the new Skyranger anti-aircraft system from Rheinmetall Air Defensewhich is also used by the Austrian Armed Forces and the German Bundeswehr have ordered. Tesch spoke on site with company representatives from Rheinmetall and with Brigadier Georg Kollmann from the Austrian Armed Forces about the procurement and had the Skyranger explained to him sitting directly in the tank.

Episode #2: Geopolitical preview 2025 with Walter Feichtinger – which wars are on the horizon?

In the second episode of our new podcast Brigadier (ret.) Walter Feichtinger ventures a geopolitical outlook for Militär Aktuell, from the South China Sea, Africa and Antarctica to the current wars in Ukraine (-> current news from the Ukraine war) and in Israel. Walter Feichtinger was, among other things, head of the Institute for Peacekeeping and Conflict Management at the National Defense Academy and is now President of the CSA – Center for Strategic Analysis.

Episode #3: Federal Armed Forces get combat technology drones – new drone operators in training

In episode three, we look at the topic of the armed forces and drones. For around a year now, the red-white-red armed forces have been training drone operators (-> Report: How the armed forces train drone operators), as the introduction of a new drone is imminent: the combat drone, or “combat technology drone” for short. Militär Aktuell reporter Stefan Tesch talks to the army’s long-time drone expert, Lieutenant Colonel Hartmuth Ziegler, Head of the Reconnaissance Unit in the Basic Training Department at the Army Troop School.
