MBDA will support Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. (PGZ) in the implementation of the Narew air defense program for the Polish armed forces. Against this background, MBDA has concluded a contract with PGZ worth EUR 4.6 billion. The aim is to more than 1,000 CAMM-ER anti-aircraft guided missiles and more than 100 launchers for the Narew program are to be manufactured in Poland.
With Narew, Poland is building a state-of-the-art mobile air defence system capable of combating threats with a range of more than 40 kilometers. The CAMM-ER missile developed by Great Britain and Italy is to be used for this purpose. The PGZ-Narew consortium was awarded the contract for the implementation of Narew by the Polish Armaments Agency in September. The current agreement builds on the strategic cooperation agreement signed between the companies in 2017. In addition, MBDA and PGZ are also working together on the “Ottokar Brzoza” tank destroyer project. https://militaeraktuell.at/nationalrat-widmet-esich-militaerbudget-fuer-2024/ Eric Béranger, CEO of MBDA, said: “Narew is an impressive and ambitious project. By building a Polish air defense shield with our CAMM family missiles and iLaunchers, the entire Polish airspace will be protected. The technology transfer will fundamentally change Poland’s capabilities and we are very proud of the trust Poland has placed in us. We look forward to our partnership with the eleven members of the consortium.”
