The first instructions are given.

In in civilian clothes, out in uniform: on November 5, the 11/18 enlistment ceremony took place at the 1st Guards Company in Vienna’s Maria Theresa Barracks, where 210 young men enlisted. 33 of them for the MilKdoW and five for the Logistics Command, who will then become Guard soldiers, and all the others are part of the Guard. An exciting time now begins for the recruits, the first day was already full of activities: first the equipment fitting, then the medical check-up in the infirmary. But their stay in the Maria Theresa barracks was short-lived for the time being: on the same day, the prospective MilKdoW and KdoLog soldiers moved to Horn, where they will spend the next seven weeks completing their basic training and learning all the basic skills of a soldier. On December 20, they were all sworn in together in Favoriten and from then on served as guard soldiers.
