More personnel news from Milrem Robotics: after the company expanded its team in the summer with General Martin Herem, the former commander of the Estonian armed forces (-> report), and with Lieutenant Colonel Andris Sprivu (-> report), it has now beenannounced that KustiSalm, CEO of Frankenburg Technologies and former State Secretary of the Estonian Ministry of Defense, has joined the Supervisory Board of Milrem Robotics.
“Kusti Salm is one of the most renowned defense experts in Europe. Throughout his career, he has been a visionary leader in improving Estonia’s defense readiness and leading defense initiatives within the European Union and now also at one of Europe’s most promising defense start-ups. With his extensive experience, he is a valuable addition to the Milrem Robotics team,” said Kuldar Väärsi, founder and shareholder of the company.
Kusti Salm has worked for the Estonian Ministry of Defense in various roles since 2007. He has been CEO of Frankenburg Technologies since September. In May 2023, he also took on a role as part of the board of the NATO Innovation Fund. In the future, he will be part of the supervisory board of Milrem Robotics, where he will be responsible for the company’s success. In this role, he is also responsible for ensuring that the THeMIS and Multiscope UGVs continue to develop in line with specifications.
Salm himself said: “Milrem Robotics is one of the true pioneers in the field of European defense technology. They invested and brought innovation to the battlefield long before it became mainstream. I am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to this remarkable success story.”
