The German loitering ammunition manufacturer Stark has gained a high-profile security policy voice in Johannes Arlt, previously a member of the German Bundestag. Arlt will support Stark in a strategic role as Senior Vice President with immediate effect, with the aim of expanding partnerships and networks in Europe and strengthening the company’s presence in the Nordic markets.

“Johannes Arlt not only brings security policy experience from parliament to the team, but also additional operational expertise from the German Armed Forces,” says Johannes Schaback, co-founder and board member of Stark. “We are delighted to be able to appoint him to a key role in the strategic development of an independent defense industry in Europe.”

“Stark is the most ambitious defense startup in Europe. Bringing a ready-to-use system to market within six months shows what is possible when technological excellence and operational experience come together,” says Johannes Arlt. “In future, Germany and Europe must not only react to threats, but we must set standards ourselves. Thanks to Stark’s innovative strength and proximity to the troops, we can develop systems that meet the real requirements of modern armed forces and ensure that Germany plays in this league.”

Johannes Arlt was a member of the 20th German Bundestag from 2021 to 2025, where he served on the Defense and Economic Affairs Committees. His responsibilities included unmanned systems and military procurement as well as the security and defense industry. As a professional officer, he has many years of operational experience: a total of seven deployments abroad, including six involving the use of unmanned systems.
