Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and MBDA Germany have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate on the introduction of Arrow III in Germany. According to the MoU, MBDA will support all necessary measures to adapt, integrate and maintain the long-range air defense system in Germany and coordinate the activities of German industry required to support the program.

The Arrow III system is an exo-atmospheric missile in the upper interceptor layer for combating threats over long distances. It is a key component of Germany’s strategic ballistic missile defense (BMD) capability. As IAI’s main contract partner in Germany, MBDA will support both IAI and the Bundeswehr (-> here for the latest Bundeswehr news) to ensure and extend the operational capability of Arrow III.

MBDA Germany and IAI sign Memorandum of Understanding for Arrow III.

Boaz Levy, President and CEO of IAI: “The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on the cooperation between Israel Aerospace Industries and MBDA Germany is an important milestone – both with regard to the joint activities for the delivery of the Arrow III system and for the protection of the German population. The Arrow system has proven itself over several years and in tests. It was developed by IAI in close cooperation with the Israeli Ministry of Defense, the Israeli Air Force and the United States Missile Defense Agency. The purchase of Arrow III by Germany underlines the technological capabilities of the system and of IAI. With its experience in air defense, system integration, logistics and maintenance, MBDA is the perfect partner for IAI and the Bundeswehr.” https://militaeraktuell.at/das-bundesheer-entscheidet-sich-fuer-die-embraer-c-390/ Thomas Gottschild, Managing Director MBDA Germany: “The MoU is of great importance for the industrial cooperation between Israel and Germany.
