The recruits take the pledge of allegiance.

The soldiers came from the Radar Battalion, the Engineer Battalion 2, the Jäger Battalion 8 and the Salzburg Military Command from the Schwarzenberg Barracks, the Command Support Battalion 2 from the Krobatin Barracks, the Mountain Combat Center from the Wallner Barracks and the Jäger Battalion 24 from the Franz-Joseph Barracks. The importance of the Austrian Armed Forces was emphasized by all speakers. However, this requires “the best possible framework conditions, very good training and professional equipment”, said Brigadier Anton Waldner. The event was co-organized by emergency organizations as well as traditional costume groups and associations. The Salzburg Military Band, conducted by Colonel Ernst Herzog, provided the musical backdrop for the event. After the swearing-in ceremony, there was a tasting from the field kitchen.
