The Honduran Ministry of Defense has ordered two more Airbus H145 helicopters from Airbus Helicopters to be used by the Honduran Air Force for passenger and cargo transportation, search and rescue, firefighting, medical evacuation and other missions in the region. This new order follows an initial order signed in April 2023 for two H145s to be delivered by the end of 2024.

José Manuel Zelaya, Minister of Defense of Honduras, said: “The H145 helicopters meet Honduras’ need for modern multi-role helicopters that can be used for the next 30 years. Honduras is frequently affected by hurricanes, natural disasters and fires due to its location. The fact that we will have six H145s available in the coming years will reassure the population in the knowledge that their armed forces have the most modern helicopters to protect and support them in these natural disasters.” https://militaeraktuell.at/verbesserungen-fuer-grundwehrdiener-kommen/ The five-bladed version of the H145 offers an additional payload of 150 kilograms. As the helicopter can also operate in high temperatures without any problems, it can also be used for firefighting operations. The version also offers improved comfort for passengers and crews.
