In the fourth and fifth week of the calendar, pilots from the Austrian Armed Forces will be training in tactical flying in the northern Mühlviertel region. During their training, the helicopter pilots will be flying at different altitudes and at different speeds.
OH-58 Kiowa and S-70 Black Hawk helicopters are used for the exercise, supported by a Eurofighter. The exercise program includes intercepting and escorting helicopters and aircraft respectively. There are no plans to carry out supersonic or night flights. Take-offs will take place from Brumowski Air Base in Langenlebarn and Hinterstoisser Air Base in Zeltweg and, in exceptional cases, from Vogler Air Base in Hörsching. The flights are scheduled for:
– Monday, January 24, in the afternoon
– Tuesday, January 25, in the afternoon
– Wednesday, January 26, in the afternoon
– Thursday, January 27, in the afternoon
– Friday, January 28, in the morning The replacement period is the fifth calendar week (January 31 – February 4).
