From March 4 to 22, the Austrian Air Force will be conducting a comprehensive “Helicopter Tactics Course”. This involves training in tactical flying at various altitudes with S-70 Black Hawk, Agusta Bell 212 and OH-58 Kiowa transport helicopters and Pilatus PC-6, Pilatus PC-7 and DA-40 fixed-wing aircraft between 9.00 and 20.00 on weekdays.
The aim is to teach the crews the correct behavior in low-level flight and at different speeds under as many threat situations as possible. Take-offs and landings take place at the Brumowski airbase in Langenlebarn, the Vogler airbase in Hörsching and the Hinterstoisser airbase in Zeltweg. Any landings outside military properties are always approved or registered and the landowners are informed.
