Greece has come one step closer to the desired procurement of 35 Black Hawk helicopters after a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) was signed a few days ago. With this LOA, the Greek government has officially announced its intention to purchase 35 helicopters from Sikorskya subsidiary of Lockheed MartinUH-60M Black Hawk helicopters as part of a Foreign Military Sale from the US government.

With its existing S-70B fleet and the newly acquired MH-60R maritime helicopters for the Hellenic Navy, at the end of the day Greece will operate several variants of the Hawk family and benefit from the advantages of fleet commonality in terms of operation and maintenance.
