Glock presented at the Enforce Tac (-> the Austrians at the trade fair) and the IWA recently presented the entire product range of the tried-and-tested sport and service pistols from Deutsch-Wagram. Militär Aktuell took the opportunity to take a closer look at the new products – and was pleasantly surprised more than once.

Powerful dwarfs
With the G26 Gen5 and G43 (Slimline), two subcompact pistols are available in the latest 9 millimeter versions from Glock. Anyone who needs to achieve a higher stopping power on target – for example when hunting or for defense – but at the same time does not want to do without the advantages of a Glock Gen5 in the subcompact size, now has the choice between two very “strong little ones”:

  • The G29 Gen5 is available in the extremely powerful 10 mm caliber, which is also accurate at longer ranges.
  • The G30 Gen5, on the other hand, performs its duty in the no less impressive .45 Auto caliber.

What is surprising in practice: All the advantages of the grip texture and grip shape of the Gen5 come into their own with smaller frames and provide a secure hold. Both the G29 Gen5 and the G30 Gen5 are well-balanced in the hand and the familiar handling of a Glock is immediately apparent.

Yes, you will feel the large caliber more or less strongly when shooting – but the balanced proportions of a Glock, the full range of functions of the Gen5 even in its small form and at least ten rounds (in the standard magazine) provide the functional safety that you appreciate so much about Glock and that ultimately creates the necessary confidence even in stressful situations.

Make a big impression: the G44 Golden Line and the G44 Silver Line.

Sporty and elegant
The G44 is not just a proverbial “different caliber”. Produced for .22 L.R. ammunition, it is the only Glock in small caliber. Two limited models skillfully and stylishly underline this special status: the already special steel-polymer slide of the G44 is elegantly highlighted in color in the G44 Golden Line and G44 Silver Line. https://militaeraktuell.at/soldaten-des-jaegerbataillons-25-schiessen-scharf/

Equipped with the Glock Performance Trigger, the G44 special edition also comes with a trigger that is dry and well-defined “out of the box”! The interchangeable backstraps make it easy to adjust the grip to the individual hand size. The budget-friendly caliber will ultimately not only please experienced shooters. Varied training sessions with this Glock in the format of a G19 bring the necessary fun into the routine.

An exciting combination: the G49 MOS comes with the slide of the G47 MOS and the grip of the G19.

Cleverly combined
Hotly anticipated by more than a few and finally held in their hands at the IWA 2024 is another exciting model: the G49 MOS. The concept is similar to that already successfully applied to the G19X. The G19X is not only unique due to its special details, such as the strikingly inconspicuous beige nPVD coating. It is also a crossover of two models, combining the full-size frame of the G17 with the compact slide and barrel of the G19.

The new G49 MOS now carries – in reverse – the larger slide of the G47 MOS (which corresponds to the dimensions of a G17) and the grip of a G19, both Glock standard models in 9 millimeters. This combination certainly allows for a wide range of applications. We are looking forward to the first test runs with it.

Bonus at the end
A real surprise at the trade fairs in Nuremberg was the presentation of the Racking Cover Plate.

Glock thus allows a further type of manipulation of the slide for tactical gun use: it is now even easier to load the gun, as a clearly noticeable extension at the end of the slide can be gripped with two fingers. The Racking Cover Plate is a helpful addition if you are working with gloves, in challenging positions or simply want to keep the option open of being able to grip the slide securely at the extreme end.

The plate will fit on many modelsbut not on Glock Slimline models or when the beavertail is fitted.
