CNS Solutions & Support, a company of the Frequentis Grouphas announced the completion of a CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) reconnaissance and surveillance system (RSS). A data fusion cell (DFC) serves as a hub for the integration of information from different sources, such as sensors and unmanned systems.

The DFC was developed by the Frequentis Group specifically for this order from the European Defense Agency, and the Group’s Incident Crisis Management (ICM) technology was also incorporated into the development. By integrating information, the DFC enables comprehensive analysis and faster decision-making. https://militaeraktuell.at/lockheed-griechenland-wird-f-35-nation/ “Our DFC has transformed CBRN defense in Europe. It equips military personnel with real-time information so that they can react quickly and effectively to new threats,” says Peter Skiczuk, Frequentis Vice President Defense. Colonel Jürgen Schlechter, Commander of the NBC Defense Center of the Austrian Armed Forcesexplains the advantages of the system: “We would normally need two hours to achieve this result. By using these modern technologies, we can reduce this time to 40 to 45 minutes. We no longer have to bring soldiers directly to the source of danger, robots and drones take care of that.”

The use of state-of-the-art technologies, including sensor-equipped drones and unmanned robotic vehicles, offers decisive advantages. For example, these unmanned devices detect and analyze hazardous substances in a short period of time, reducing the risk to personnel. By using data aggregation and real-time analysis, commanders gain key insights to make better decisions, further enhancing the safety of both military personnel and civilians.
