Milestone for FrequentisThe C4i VOICE 2 communication system has been approved by Defense Information Security (DISA) for inclusion on the U.S. Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN) Approved Products List following recertification by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC).
The DISA Security Technical Information Guide (STIG) contains numerous mandatory cybersecurity guidelines and best practices. These guidelines prescribe the configurations, settings and security measures necessary to ensure the protection of information systems within the networks of the US Department of Defense.
VOICE C2 can be used in air traffic control, air defense, battle management systems, air force command posts and on test and training grounds. At its core, Voice-over-IP (VoIP) is used to provide communication systems with highly scalable radio, telephone, intercom and conference functions. Interoperability with DoD telephony using AS-SIP (Assured Services Session Initiation Protocol) and support for multi-level precedence and preemption was part of the certification tests.
Darren Gardner, Managing Director of C4i at Frequentis, was delighted: “Our holistic approach to cyber security includes system hardware, network security, system monitoring, system management, protective measures and information security. The recent approval by the US Department of Defense is an important sign of confidence in our ability to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of critical communications for defence organizations around the world.”
