Eight “Airborne Rescue Centers, light (LLRZ, le)” were set up by the Bundeswehr Procurement Office. Bundeswehr from the special fund in February of this year and the first system, including the medical equipment, was handed over to the troops much earlier than planned on December 21.
These mobile, tent-based medical facilities enable emergency surgical first aid in accordance with German standards, even when deployed. With the new light airborne rescue centers, the systems that have been in use since 2003 will be regenerated, i.e. renewed. The new medical equipment ensures improved treatment options for soldiers.
“We are happy and satisfied to be able to deliver the first of eight systems of the 25 million euro project to the troops in 2023,” emphasized the responsible project manager at the procurement office, senior field pharmacist René S. “Especially in the current global political situation, it is important that the troops quickly receive the material they need for their missions and operations.” The second system is expected to be delivered to the Bundeswehr Medical Service next month, with the remaining six “LLRZ, le” to follow in the course of next year.
