The Hensoldt Group announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH from Armira. ESG is a leading platform-independent systems integrator and established technology and innovation partner for defense and security.
With the acquisition of ESG’s highly complementary defense technology business, Hensoldt is adding strong design and systems integration capabilities to its business. Given the highly complementary skills, strong cultural fit and stakeholder support, the combined group is “ideally positioned to accelerate its international growth based on the track record and growth trajectory of the two companies, while remaining firmly rooted in Germany and protecting national security interests,” according to a recent Hensoldt statement. Thomas Müller, CEO of Hensoldt Group, says: “The acquisition of ESG fits perfectly into our overall strategy and accelerates Hensoldt’s development as a defense and security solutions provider. By combining our highly complementary capabilities, we are taking a decisive step towards becoming a leading European provider of seamlessly integrated solutions. This puts us in an excellent position to meet the existing and future needs of our customers worldwide.” https://militaeraktuell.at/ohne-sicherheit-ist-alles-nichts/ Christoph Otten, CEO of ESG, said: “The acquisition is undoubtedly a clear sign of great recognition and appreciation for the comprehensive performance of the entire ESG team as an independent national system integrator and reliable technology and innovation partner of the German Armed Forces. We are firmly convinced that we will continue our course of sustainable, profitable growth undiminished, even in a new ownership structure. We are also convinced that the associated change will also open up further diverse development opportunities for all employees individually and for us as a company as a whole.” The takeover is expected to be completed by the first half of 2024, subject to compliance with certain conditions, including the granting of the necessary regulatory approvals.
