The armed forces are procuring a total of 35,000 new pairs of combat boots – around 15,000 of which have already been delivered.

“The safety of our soldiers is our top priority and the purchase of the new combat boots is a further step in this direction – this heralds the era for our ‘soldiers of the future’. Our armed forces face a variety of challenges on a daily basis, for which they depend on the best possible equipment – in summer and winter alike. With the new combat boots, we are not only investing in the protection of our soldiers, but also in their performance and operational readiness. They can only perform their duties effectively and safely with the best possible equipment,” said Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner. The new combat boot in beige meets the highest demands. Thanks to its textile lining, the new combat boot is highly abrasion-resistant and absorbs moisture well to keep the foot dry. A polyurethane and rubber sole and a soft insole ensure good cushioning. Around eight millimetres of foam padding surrounds the foot in the shaft area to keep it warm in cold temperatures and ensure stability in the terrain. The height of the shoe is around 20 centimetres for a medium size and the weight is around 1.9 kilograms per pair. https://militaeraktuell.at/ruakpol-kampfstiefel-firmenchef-horst-koenig-im-gespraech/ The Austrian Armed Forces is procuring a total of 35,000 pairs of combat boots for the years 2023 to 2025 with a total order volume of 4.8 million from the Austrian company Rukapol.
