The cooperation between the Czech armed forces and Hensoldt, which has been in place since 2022 Hensoldt is being expanded further. The German company is equipping further Czech combat vehicles with the Taranis Adler command, control, coordination and communication system. As part of the cooperation, Hensoldt is also integrating a new map service and training artillerymen.

The partners have been working closely together for years, particularly in the field of artillery. On behalf of the State Military Technical Institute of the Czech Republic, Hensoldt is supplying the “Automated Fire Control System and Support” (AFCS) with ESG as its contractual partner. The previous contract included the delivery of a version of the Taranis Adler command and weapon deployment system adapted to the specific requirements of the armed forces and a current standard version for installation at the Military University of the Czech Republic in Brno.

As part of the now signed contract extension and deepening, Hensoldt has been commissioned to equip further combat vehicle types and radar systems with the Taranis Adler AFCS CZE, as well as to fully integrate all currently available sensors and the national command and control system BVIS. The new map service also integrated into Taranis Adler makes maps from a common map server usable for the C2 system and Taranis Adler. The German company is also responsible for training the first soldiers of the Czech artillery force.

A company statement said: “This additional order will strengthen the excellent cooperation between Hensoldt and the Czech armed forces in the areas of command, coordination and communication systems, system integration and training in the long term.”
