As of Tuesday, October 27, there are around 2,630 soldiers deployed. Of these, over 1,530 are deployed domestically and around 1,100 are deployed in 16 missions abroad.
Currently used in Austria:
- Around 740 soldiers are deployed to assist health authorities (including health checks and contact tracing) in all federal states,
- Around 790 soldiers are deployed as security police assistants in the federal states of Burgenland, Styria, Carinthia, Tyrol and Vienna,
- 6 soldiers support a call center of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs in Vienna.
The professionals of the demining service of the Austrian Armed Forces carried out 37 operations throughout Austria last week. Various war material was individually defused, recovered, examined, assessed, transported away and destroyed. Experts from the Office of Armaments and Defense Technology are constantly testing members of the army for Covid-19.
