A major order for its Aartos DDS drone detection system crowns Aaronia’s 2023 financial statements. With a total volume of almost 20 million euros, this is the largest single order to date for the international specialist for measurement, positioning and surveillance technology. The company did not provide any further details about the customer.

The system can be modularly adapted to a wide range of requirements. The portfolio ranges from the mobile laptop versions X2 and X5 for limited areas of application to the high-end solutions X7 and X9 (see image above). According to a recent press release, the company thus covers “all civilian and military areas in which drones can pose a threat”. “An order of this magnitude, including tracking and jamming technology, is both confirmation and motivation for us,” says Thorsten Chmielus, CEO and founder of Aaronia AG. “It underlines the performance and reliability of our CUAV system. The trust placed in us encourages us to consistently develop Aartos further in order to offer our customers the best possible protection against drone attacks at all times.”

According to the press release, some of the unique features that set Aartos apart from competitors’ systems are likely to have been decisive in the award of the contract. https://militaeraktuell.at/das-bundesheer-modernisert-seine-fliegerabwehr/ For example, Aartos is able to determine not only the position and speed of drones, but also their altitude. It ensures the high-speed localization of drone activities. To do this, the system scans the entire frequency spectrum, including simultaneous scans of different frequencies, enabling it to locate all drones that work with radio signals. The position of the drone and the operator is provided in real time. The in-house software solution RTSA-Suite PRO plays a central role in this. This is because the real-time spectrum analysis software enables the integration of a wide range of hardware components for evaluation and therefore guarantees simple, efficient and optimal use of the system.
