Colonel of the General Staff Horst Dauerböck took over command of the Eastern Medical Center on 1 December. Dauerböck enlisted in 1997 as a one-year volunteer and later graduated from the Theresian Military Academy, where he left in 2003 as an economic officer and commander of the staff company of Armored Battalion 14.

This was followed by more than 15 years as an S8 and economic officer with the 4th Armored Infantry Brigade before he moved to the Target Group Communication department in 2022 after completing his Master’s degree in Military Leadership (2011 to 2013).

As part of the troop assignment for general staff officers, Dauerböck has now taken command of the Eastern Medical Center. Among other things, he gained experience abroad in 2024/25 in the EU mission “Aspides” in Greece (-> Colonel Horst Dauerböck in an interview about his deployment with “Aspides”) and during international exercises and missions with AFDRU.
