Colonel Hartmut Ömer, the previous Head of Operations at the Upper Austrian Military Command, was officially presented as Head of the Upper Austrian Supplementary Department, which is part of the Upper Austrian Military Command, at a ceremony.

Until now, Colonel Ömer’s tasks have included the planning, coordination and implementation of operations in Upper Austria, whether military, security police or disaster-related tasks that needed to be solved. From now on, he and his staff will be responsible for the personnel administration of conscripts – starting with their status, call-ups for basic military service or for the exercises of militia soldiers, through to confirmations of the completion of military service periods.

Wolfgang Stanek, Member of Parliament, congratulated Colonel Ömer on his new role, wished that his words would be echoed in his work and conveyed greetings from Governor Thomas Stelzer.

In his speech, Upper Austria’s military commander Brigadier Dieter Muhr emphasized the tasks of the supplementary department and thanked the state politicians and the united stance of all political parties represented in the Upper Austrian state parliament for their united commitment to maintaining the position commission in Linz, which had been called into question a few years ago.
