With the Helix Combat Multi Harness II, Helix Operations offer a chest and waist harness for tactical use. Here are some details on the modular solution for safe ascent and descent during operations.
From the UK comes a modular harness that is suitable for all military operations where a secured approach or abseiling is required. The Helix Combat Multi Harness II (HCMH-II) consists of the Riggers Belt (to EN358) and either the actual climbing harness (to EN 12277) or the full-body climbing harness (to EN 361), which passes the 150 kilogram drop test – a weight that is closer to the reality of operations than the 100 kilograms that are more common in the civilian sector. In addition, it was tested in the helicopter with a load of 17.5 kilonewtons instead of 15 kilonewtons and can therefore also withstand higher G-forces.
The entire system is deliberately kept minimalist in order to harmonize with existing equipment. At the same time – according to Helix – durability does not suffer as a result. The slim design also means that the harness can be worn under a plate carrier, which is ensured by particularly slim seams and the rear connecting piece.
The Chest Ascender can be mounted in front of the chest on the plate carrier or on the vest in the MOLLE loops. There is another connection point for a carabiner that is hooked onto the access ladder (DMM Ladder Fifi Hook).

The harness is made of corrosion-resistant material and can withstand maritime and desert conditions. Helix also claims an extremely small pack size for the complete set with additional equipment (carabiner, ascender and hook ladder): Only 29 x 19 x 7.5 centimeters are needed for this.
The cooperation between Helix Operations and Ferro Concepts is also exciting: the well-known equipment suppliers from the USA have found a way to combine the Shooters Belt with the Helix Combat Multi Harness II.
The HCMH II Harness Bison Belt is rigid thanks to a Tegris frame, it is fully compatible with MOLLE equipment and has Velcro all the way around the inside.
