On May 14, the traditional chamber music evening took place at the National Defense Academy in Vienna. The commander of the academy, Lieutenant General Erich Csitkovits, welcomed many culture-loving guests to the “Sala Terrena”.
Piano music and the sounds of string instruments echoed through the corridors of the Academy that evening. The Vienna Piano Quartet and Manfred Hecking, double bass, delighted the audience with their chamber music. The musicians around Yoko Fog Urata on piano, Remy Ballot (violin), Jörgen Fog (violoncello), Robert Bauerstatter (viola) and Manfred Hecking (double bass) invited the audience on a musical journey with works by Franz Schubert and Johannes Brahms. The annual event is a cooperation between the National Defense Academy and the Neubau Cultural Association and serves to maintain good neighborly relations between the barracks and the surrounding population.
