Last Friday, 150 recruits took their oath of allegiance to the Republic of Austria in wintry conditions in front of the Wels town hall. Christian Dörfel, Member of Parliament, delivered the message of greeting from the Governor of Upper Austria to the young soldiers. The swearing-in ceremony took place in the presence of the military commander of Upper Austria, Brigadier Dieter Muhr, the mayor of the trade fair city of Wels, Andreas Rabl, and representatives of public life.

@Federal Army/UnterbuchbergerThe weather was kind to the soldiers and visitors to the swearing-in ceremony, as the heavy snowfall of the previous 24 hours took a break. Brigadier Muhr addressed the parents, relatives and friends of the recruits directly with the words, “You can be proud of your sons, nephews and friends!” The young soldiers enlisted in Hörsching and Wels in January. They will continue their military training over the next few months and serve in Upper Austria. After a refreshment from the Wels troop kitchen, the recruits were able to drive home with their families.
