“We got to know a number of Lithuanian industrial organizations and experienced their expertise on site,” emphasized Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security. “In addition to delivering the C-390 Millennium, we will also contribute to Lithuania’s technological and industrial development.”

European anchoring and industry cooperation

Since the early 2000s, Embraer has been continuously expanding its European presence – among other things through investments in defense companies, the establishment of industrial sites and an expanded supplier base. Over 40 percent of the components supplied for the C-390M already come from Europe.

The most recent industrial cooperations are with Portugal, the Netherlands, Austria (-> Embraer starts construction of the first C-390M for the Austrian Armed Forces), the Czech Republic and Sweden. The establishment of the Embraer Defense Europe unit based in Lisbon underlines the Group’s long-term commitment to the EU and NATO partners – including planned C-390M training centers and cooperation with military facilities in the region.
