On November 3 and 4, several military convoys of the Bundeswehr through Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg and Lower Saxony. The journeys mark the start of a maneuver in the Nienburg (Weser) area.
The convoys depart from Stadum in Schleswig-Holstein. The destination is Luttmersen in Lower Saxony. https://militaeraktuell.at/7-jaegerbrigade-wird-jaegerbrigade-jagdkampf/ The individual marching columns are up to two kilometers long and move comparatively slowly. The routes, which can be up to 400 kilometers long, are mainly on federal highways and federal roads through the northern federal states. The end of the exercise and the return journey to Stadum are planned for November 9. Due to the higher volume of military traffic on the main roads between the Hanseatic city of Hamburg and the various cities in Lower Saxony, road users are asked to pay increased attention. A military convoy will also pass through Lower Saxony, Hesse and Bavaria on November 3. The departure point in this case is Seedorf in Lower Saxony and the destination is Wildflecken in Bavaria. The more than 100 wheeled vehicles will be driven by soldiers. The entire convoy is divided into several groups that travel at different times.
“Operationally ready armed forces are the prerequisite for credible deterrence and effective defense. Military exercises are necessary and serve to train the troops and to establish and maintain operational readiness,” as stated in a recent Bundeswehr statement. And further: “This is the only way we can ensure our country’s ability to defend itself. This applies to the Bundeswehr, but also to our NATO-partners who travel via the ‘Germany hub’ to exercise with us in Germany, but also with partners in Germany and in neighboring countries. Overall, this means for national and alliance defense that more military is visible in the public space and especially on roads and freeways.”
