The Future Capability Innovation Team at DE&S (Defence Equipment & Support) is to work with McLaren Racing to bring motorsport innovation and the performance-driven mindset it brings to projects at DE&S and the MoD as a whole. The partnership will form the basis for a range of projects including vehicle electrification, accelerating product development and using digital tools for data-driven decision making.
McLaren’s Accelerator division has a team of experienced professionals who have acquired a great deal of specialist knowledge through their years of working in top motorsport. According to a recent DE&S press release, this expertise will “support the upskilling of defense teams to solve defense challenges”. This in turn should help accelerate the adoption of best practice in the UK defense industry, with a focus on climate change and sustainability.
