Following the completion of the research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) phase of the MH-139A Grey Wolf, Boeing Boeing recently set the next milestone towards series production. The company recently delivered the sixth and final test helicopter to the US Air Force.
Boeing expects to be able to deliver the first aircraft from the small series in 2024. To date, the Air Force has contracted Boeing to build the first 13 aircraft, with the first aircraft already in final assembly. Ultimately, Boeing will deliver up to 80 MH-139A Grey Wolf aircraft to the US Air Force. This is an important step towards bringing the aircraft into service.” The MH-139A helicopters will replace the UH-1N Huey and will be tasked with protecting intercontinental ballistic missiles in the U.S. and transporting VIP and security personnel.
