Boeing Defence Australia has been awarded a five-year contract extension by the Australian Army to continue maintaining and modernizing the F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler fleets until 2030. According to official information from “Down Under”, the 550 million euro contract secures more than 350 jobs in the country.
The air combat and electronic attack sustainment contract with Boeing Defence Australia commenced on July 1, 2016 for an initial term of five years. With this contract extension, we are ready for any challenges that may arise.” The Airborne Electronic Attack capability is operated by No. 6 Squadron at RAAF Base Amberley and consists of twelve EA-18G Growler aircraft, the ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System and AGM-88 air-to-ground missiles specifically designed to counter ground-based radars.
