Babcock, in collaboration with ST Engineering, presented its 120-mm Ground Deployed Advanced Mortar System (GDAMS) at DVD 2024. The vehicle-mounted, mobile 120-millimeter GDAMS is based on ST Engineering’s technology and was developed for the British armed forces.
Tom Newman, Chief Executive of Babcock’s Land Sector, said: “Babcock’s 120-millimetre GDAMS can help drive the modernization of the UK Army with more firepower, while improving the availability, affordability and capability of vital equipment.” https://militaeraktuell.at/7-jaegerbrigade-wird-jaegerbrigade-jagdkampf/ As the mortar system is manufactured at Babcock’s production facility in Devonport, UK, it is the first 120-millimeter mortar system to be produced in the UK for decades. It is the result of a collaboration between Babcock and ST Engineering, bringing together skills, technology and solutions from both companies. The aim was to strengthen the UK’s next generation of indirect fire weapon systems.
Commenting on the new mortar system, Retired Brigadier General Jin Kiat Chua, Head of ST Engineering’s International Business, Defense and Public Safety, said: “GDAMS is the preeminent tactical fire solution that pushes performance to the limit and increases firepower. This collaboration combines ST Engineering’s extensive mortar expertise with Babcock’s manufacturing capabilities to deliver a superior solution that enhances the UK Army’s combat capability.”
