In view of the rapidly rising corona numbers, the Austrian Armed Forces are intensifying their efforts to contain the Covid-19 pandemic. Tomorrow, Saturday, November 20, the population can therefore be vaccinated at Salzburg Airport in a C-130 transport aircraft.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., it will be possible to get a “stitch” in the Hercules. “Austrians can rely on the air force, especially during the crisis. The opportunity to be vaccinated directly at Hercules is an additional offer to help fight the pandemic and get our lives back to normal. Vaccination remains the most important means of fighting the pandemic,” says Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner.
The first mission in the Covid-19 pandemic was a C-130 Hercules on a flight from Paris to Vienna on February 2, 2020 with citizens flown out of China. As the pandemic progressed, 13 flights were completed and infected people in need of intensive medical care were flown home in a special container for medical evacuations.
