With a small ceremony, the Armed Forces officially bid farewell to Governor Wilfried Haslauer in Salzburg. The occasion was the imminent end of his term of office. All commanders of command area 8 (Salzburg) took part in the farewell ceremony.
The military commander of Salzburg, Brigadier Peter Schinnerl, thanked Haslauer for the close and trusting cooperation between the state of Salzburg and the Austrian Armed Forces: “Wilfried Haslauer has been a reliable partner and friend of the Armed Forces for many years. He always mentioned his service as a militia officer with pride – also in his speeches – and his military training was also recognized in his political leadership style.”

Schinnerl continued: “Mr. Governor was always interested in developments in the Armed Forces and understood our concerns and needs perfectly. Whether on security policy issues or disaster control – we could always rely on the Governor’s support. We would like to thank him for this commitment.”
Haslauer was visibly moved and thanked the new commanders for their close cooperation and the trust they had placed in him during his time in office.
