Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner has appointed Arnold Kammel as Secretary General and Roman Markhart as Head of Cabinet appointed. With these personnel decisions, the Ministry is focusing on continuity and “the consistent continuation of the ‘Mission Forward’ in the Minister’s second term of office”, as stated in a recent press release.
Arnold Kammel, previously Director General for Defense Policy, has extensive defense policy and international experience. In his role as Secretary General, he will continue to play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the Ministry of Defense.
With this “strong leadership”, the “successful modernization process” of the Austrian Armed Forces is to be further advanced, according to the press release. The focus is on strengthening the national defense capability, increasing resilience and providing the best possible support for soldiers.
