Australia has commissioned the Australian subsidiary of the US company Polaris with the delivery of the Dagor Ultra Light Combat Vehicle (UCLV). This is an all-terrain tactical system from the Government and Defense division. The order is worth 13.7 million euros and includes vehicles, mission accessories and technical manuals as well as spare parts and tool kits, driver and maintenance training and ongoing support in the country.
Polaris will supply the Dagor vehicles to the Australian Defense Force in three different variants. The first variant is a transport variant for increased tactical mobility and longer range. The second is the expeditionary reconnaissance variant, designed to provide stealth in difficult conditions. Finally, a cargo variant – the rear seats are replaced by a cargo bed extension to increase load capacity in combat – will also be delivered. The vehicles will be produced at a Polaris plant in Melbourne.

“We are proud to offer this capability to the Australian Defence Force. The Dagor all-terrain vehicle will allow teams to move faster, carry more and significantly reduce combat fatigue by enabling them to navigate complex terrain that soldiers would otherwise have to walk,” said Michael Cannell, Government and Defense Sales and Operations Manager at Polaris Australia. The Dagor offers rapid airlift capability, payload capacity and advanced mobility, and is one of the most capable military systems in its class for rough terrain. The chassis and suspension are designed for off-road use with a full payload of 1,814 kilograms. A commercially available drive train is used, powered by a diesel/JP8 engine. The vehicles are heavy weapons capable and can be transported in numerous airlifters such as the CH-47, C-17 and C-130. https://militaeraktuell.at/lockheed-martin-mega-javelin-auftrag-us-armee/ Nick Francis, Vice President of Polaris Government and Defense, said: “Polaris military vehicles have become force multipliers for expeditionary forces by increasing operational range, reducing operator fatigue and improving operational readiness and capability.” Australia’s vehicle fleet already includes two other Polaris products: the MV850 and the Sportsman 6×6 Big Boss ATV. In addition to Australia, the NATO-allies USA and Canada also use the Dagor platform. Some European countries are also among the users. The vehicles will be delivered over the next two years.
