The Austrian Armed Forces today issued the deployment order for the testing of teachers and kindergarten teachers. The tests will take place on December 5 and 6 and concern people from the education sector. The army is taking on this task as an assistance mission for the health authorities and is fully in charge.
The soldiers’ tasks are:
- Planning and preparing the tests in cooperation with the responsible authorities,
- Setting up the test stations,
- Planning the process organization with the supporting authorities,
- Rehearsals and test runs,
- Creation of a hygiene and safety concept by the NBC Defense Center,
- Operation of the test stations.
“The Austrian Armed Forces are the strategic reserve of the Republic and have the necessary technical expertise, planning procedures and personnel resources to meet these challenges,” says Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner. The exact type and number of test stations will be determined by the health authorities in cooperation with the education authorities and the military commands in the federal states. This first round of mass testing also serves as preparation for the mass testing of the entire population, which is planned before Christmas.
