The Austrian Armed Forces are conducting corona tests for the population of Lower Austria on December 21 and 22. On behalf of the state of Lower Austria, 21 test routes were set up at five test locations. Around 250 soldiers and civilian employees of the Austrian Armed Forces will be deployed.

The military commander, Brigadier Martin Jawurek, commented: “The Austrian Armed Forces are the strategic reserve of the Republic of Austria. With the testing so close to Christmas, we are making an important contribution to coping with the pandemic. The Armed Forces, as an integral part of the security family in Lower Austria, will continue to help our population wherever it is needed and whatever is required of it.” The tests are aimed at Lower Austrians who want to be tested again shortly before Christmas. The test stations in Amstetten, Korneuburg, Sankt Pölten, Wiener Neustadt and Zwettl are spread across all regions of Lower Austria. You can be tested free of charge at these five locations on these two days from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm. Participation in the antigen tests is voluntary. As before, a positive test will be checked by the health authorities at one of the nine drive-in test stations in Lower Austria using a PCR test
