The All Souls’ Day celebrations of the Innsbruck garrison are already a tradition. On November 2, the Tyrolean provincial government and the Tyrolean military command commemorated the fallen and victims of the two world wars as well as the members of the Austrian Armed Forces who died in the line of duty and during missions abroad and the deceased employees of the Tyrolean provincial government and the Tyrolean provincial parliament at Bergisel.

Provincial Councillor Johannes Tratter, Vice President of the Provincial Parliament Stephanie Jicha, Major General Herbert Bauer, members of the Tyrolean Provincial Parliament and the Provincial Government, as well as the Tyrolean Military Command and other military services commemorated the deceased. A guard of honor from the staff company of the Tyrolean military command and numerous flag delegations from traditional associations provided a dignified setting. The ecumenical service was conducted by the Catholic military chaplain, Military Curate Hans-Peter Schiestl, the Protestant military chaplain, Pastor Richard Rotter, and Monsignor Hermann Röck from the Mariahilf regional parish.

Two wreaths are laid at the Kaiserjäger Memorial Chapel.

At the mass, military curate Hans-Peter Schiestl used the following words in his spiritual address: “Today we want to remember our deceased, those we personally miss, all those of the military command and the Tyrolean provincial government who have died, and we want to pray for those who have died but are no longer remembered.” After the service, Provincial Councillor Johannes Tratter and Major General Herbert Bauer laid wreaths at the memorial at the Kaiserjäger Memorial Chapel as a sign of remembrance. The musical accompaniment was provided by the Tyrolean Military Band under the direction of Colonel Hannes Apfolterer.
