Airbus Helicopters introduces the AH-125 and MH-125 Ares, the first US-built military configurations of the H125. The AH-125 Ares is configured as an armed variant of the helicopter, while the MH-125 Ares is configured as a multi-role helicopter for a wide range of missions.
“The helicopters have the capabilities, reliability and flexibility that America’s allies and partners need for a wide range of rotary-wing missions. These range from light attack to disaster relief and other missions,” said Scott Tumpak, vice president of the Military Line of Business at Airbus US Space and Defense. “The two types represent the latest evolution of the Airbus H125 helicopter family and will be manufactured in the U.S. at the Airbus Helicopters, Inc. facility in Columbus, Mississippi.” According to Airbus Helicopters, the H125 family accounts for nearly 80 percent of the single-engine helicopter market worldwide and has the highest number of certified modifications (supplemental type certificates).
