Today, the soldiers of Alpha Company for AUTCON43/KFOR (KOSOVO) were bid farewell by the deputy brigade commander of the 7th Jäger Brigade, Colonel Bernhard Köffel, and the battalion commander, Colonel Karl-Heinz Taschl, during an internal ceremony at the Landwehr barracks in Upper Styria.
Colonel Köffel gave the soldiers the following instructions for the next six months: “Set They also see themselves as representatives and ambassadors for Jäger Battalion 18, the 7th Jäger Brigade and the Austrian Armed Forces. The commander of Jäger Battalion 18 paid tribute to their achievements to date and also took the opportunity to bid farewell to the cadre presence unit as commander. He concluded his words with good luck and good health for his comrades and a minute’s silence for a recently deceased non-commissioned officer of Jäger Battalion 18.
The contingent pastor, military superior Sascha Kasper, offered all soldiers the possibility of pastoral care in Kosovo – should the boot ever pinch. The farewell ceremony was accompanied by music from the Burgenland Military Band.
