The three-week “TERPRO22” exercise of the 3rd Jäger Brigade at the Allentsteig military training area ended a few days ago. The exercise successfully trained the core competence of the Austrian Armed Forces – military national defense. Around 560 soldiers and around 110 military vehicles from various branches of the armed forces were brought together. The 3rd Jäger Brigade was reinforced by parts of the Guard.
The commander of the 3rd Jäger Brigade, Brigadier Christian Habersatter, after three intensive weeks of exercises: “The exercise not only refreshed the military national defense skills of the participating soldiers, but also improved them. Due to a large number of assistance missions and support services, such exercises could not be carried out in previous years. However, projects such as these are necessary in order to train military national defense capabilities. My aim is to increase exercises again in the coming years in order to be able to protect the Austrian population in the future.” The brigade exercise was also the last opportunity for conscripts due to enlist in July 2022 to apply the skills they have learned in the various branches of the armed forces before disarming. Even adverse weather conditions and freezing temperatures were no obstacle for the soldiers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=6&v=AyzXgXUCC_U&feature=emb_title The highlights of the exercise, a crossing of the Danube with combat vehicles using combat ferries, the combat march across Austria and the final combat exercise in the built-up area at the Allentsteig military training area, will remain as positive memories of their time in the Austrian Armed Forces for some of the conscripts. For some conscripts, it is certainly also an incentive to decide on a professional career with the 3rd Jäger Brigade.
