During her visit to the Theresian Military Academy yesterday, Defense Minister Tanner announced that 38 million euros will be invested in the infrastructure of the campus in Wr. Neustadt over the next few years.
These funds can be used to carry out long-overdue modernizations and urgently needed new buildings. Among other things, the construction of an accommodation building is planned in order to provide modern accommodation for the numerous course participants, but also for the personnel assigned to duty. Every year, the Institute for Officer Training alone trains around 1,000 professional and militia soldiers as well as civilian staff. In addition, a multi-purpose building is to be constructed, which will house a modern kitchen, dining hall and clothing management. There are also plans to further develop the infrastructure in the Daun barracks, the home of the BHAK for leadership and security. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2022 and be completed in 2024.
